The Temple Opera Theater will be staging an odd couple of one-act productions.

    It may appear at first to be an unlikely pairing: Donizetti’s broadly comic opera Il Campanello di Notte (The Night Bell) and Darius Milhaud’s bittersweet and tragic Les Malheurs D’Orphee (The Misfortunes of Orpheus).
    But in the deftly creative hands of Temple University Opera Theater music director John Douglas and director Copeland Woodruff, the double bill of these one-acts promises a provocative opera-going experience.
    Performances (with English supertitles) are Friday, Nov. 18, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 20, at 3 p.m., in Tomlinson Theater. [more]
